Some people get to a wall or a roadblock and stop there. They don't know how to hop over, go around or dig under that wall. This is a quick path to complacency and unhappiness.
I've learned from my past experiences that If you truly have a goal then there will always be something to try to stop you from achieving it. This is just life, this is what happens. Theodore Roosevelt once said “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty…". If it comes easily was it really a goal, was it really worth it, will you be truly happy that you achieved it? The answer will normally be no.
I had the chance to finally achieve one goal that i've had for over 6 years. I have always wanted to go to the SEMA show in Vegas and couldn't because I was not in the automotive industry. Also, in the last five years since I started doing automotive media I wanted to attend SEMA not as a regular participant but as part of the Media. Well, I am happy to say that after all these years I was finally able to attend as Media with Motor Misfit. While it was not the full experience of SEMA because Covid put a damper on things. It was a great virtual event called SEMA360. Yours truly was part of the media attendees and I will be bringing that recap to you soon.
This was a great goal I was able to accomplish for myself and it would have never happened if I would have let the many roadblocks stop me along the way. I pushed through and found ways to overcome them. It took long but remember it's not a sprint, it is a marathon. So I implore you to please go after your dreams or your goals and push through those obstacles to get to what you really want. Perseverance is key!
